The fame of Mary Poppins

On Thursday we went to see Mary Poppins in London.
It was so fun that we all clapped and went woo.
We could all see the orchestra under the stage.
Some of the costumes were brightly coloured.
It was good how they made the house they lived in.
The children in the play were about 6,7 or8 years old.
It was good how they got the equipment out so fast.
It was very amazing how they made Bert walk along
the ceiling. Mr Banks nanny was very mean to the
children.

At the end Mary Poppins flew over the crowd.

Mary Poppins

This Thursday we went to Mary Poppins in London. When we got there we saw the London Eye, Big Ben and the River Thames. We saw Keith Miller (David Spinx) walking along the road.

When we got to the theatre we watched Mary Poppins. At the end of the play she flew over the stage. The way she flew over the stage was with a harness and wires.

When the evil nanny came in she made me jump. I think the actors were good.

When we got back we had something to eat and went back to the coach.

Having fun at Southwold

On the way to Southwold, some people went by car because the bus could not hold all of the people on the bus. When we got to Southwold we got into our groups and we went to the toilets.

After that we went walking towards the beach to sit down and we started answering questions about the beach. Next, we went to the other part of the beach were the ice-cream stall is, so we could have our lunch. After we ate our lunch we went to have our ice-cream, some people went into the sea.

Later we went into town and started writing a tally chart about the types of buildings. We started making our way back to the coach but before we went on the coach we went on the pier. There was a clock which was comical and it was for charity, but it was a bit slow.

It was a really good day and luckily it didn’t rain.

On Tuesday we, years 5 and 6, went to Southwold. It was very fun. We went for a walk to explore the place and ask the public some questions, but one of the groups bumped in to some one from another country. How embarrassing! But it was good they didn’t stop. When we got to the beach we had our lunch, got an ice cream (a lot of people had more than one) and had a paddle. But the horrible thing was that the sea was freezing cold and the water soaked our trousers and we had to walk all the way back in them. It was fffffrrrrreeeeeeeeeezzzzziiiiinnnnnggggg. We finally reached the coach ( bus ) after a hard day at the sea side. We got back to school just in time for home time.

Southwold

It's only a fortnight until we go to Southwold as part of our geography topic on coasts. This week we will be looking at the location of Southwold on a map and writing directions for our bus driver.

Two years ago when we went, this house was very near the edge of the cliff. I wonder where it will be now? We will spend half the day on the beach, looking at sea defences, erosion and facilities for the tourists.

During the afternoon we will do a survey of the shops on the high street (from the outside!), and will later compare the types of shops in Southwold and Diss.
